Top 10 Pinoy Wedding Videographers

If you are a bride or a groom planning for a grand wedding, you only want to settle for the best. And if you are a beginner in the field of wedding videography, you only want to learn from the best. That is why you’re here, on my page, to know the answers.

Using the word “best” in anything we wish to describe requires us to be a little careful, and in my case you’re hoping that I’d justify my stand. I don’t think I will have a hard time anyway.

Learning the craft of top quality wedding videography is no easy matter. Most especially when in the recent past wedding videos are treated as “incidental” mementos only, second to wedding photos. There was not much interest in this field except that this service only comes “with the package” – a take it or leave it kind of thing.

Thanks to the new breed of videographers that see more in a wedding than merely a pass-by event in one’s life. More than the blunders that don’t seem to get away in each wedding day, these videographers, with their steady supply of creative genius, breathe new life to wedding videos. The new art in wedding videography gave way for the creation of demand for this kind of service and wedding videos has never been the same.

No two stories are alike -- that is how the masters present their work, one after the other. The work is more than just capturing a moment, but a precise delivery of emotion of that special day. Who would not want to be brought back to such loving feeling years after the wedding day?

   Training and Recognition
Arriving at the stage of practice as one of the best in the field requires more than a typical likeness to the art. It doesn’t really matter what you were before becoming a videographer or where you came from; the important thing is tapping deep into the passion to learn more about the skill and bring it out on a video for the world to see and appreciate. And the world did, as this 10 Best constantly gain both local and international recognition among peers of their caliber, opening more doors for infinite creative possibilities for other videographers to follow.

See how the pinoy videographers make us proud:

    Rates.
This is a bit of a sad part because the rates of these videographers are as exclusive as the clients they service. From celebrities to dignitaries and socialites alike, people from this walk of life treat their work as masterpiece and are willing to pay the price just to be filmed. In an industry like wedding, you always get what you pay for.

Here is my Top 10 Best Pinoy Wedding Videographers

1. Jason Magnabua

'Probably the busiest wedding videographer in the country. In my honest opinion Jason Magbanua is “the” standard when it comes to top quality wedding videos. He is really putting his artistic gift to great use and therefore belongs at the top of my list. By being one of the two winners of the Creative Excellence Award by the WEVA (Wedding and Events Videograpers Association International in 2006, he helped put the Philippines in the map, so to speak. He has since then raised the bar on what a real wedding video should be. It is no surprise that the demand for his service has reached far beyond the boundaries of the country.

2. Mayad Studios

If there is such a thing as love-at-first-wedding-video-sight, then this would be it between me and a Mayad Sudios wedding video. I would describe their work to be born of pure romance, always bringing out the best in a bride and groom. Their latest international recognition came from Event dv25 in 2010 as being one of the 25 most influencial videographers all over the world. This statement says it all.

Mayad is always worthy of recognition

3. Bob Nicolas

Seeing Bob Nicolas wedding video for the first time, all I could say is “Oh my!”. I would describe his video as a masterpiece, a movie trailer-like, making you yearn for more. His clever integration of both camera work and musical score gives you that wonderful and sweet roller coaster feeling of an emotional ride.

Buddy Gancenia’s style of work won him the grand price for the very 1st Sony Wedding Video Competition held in Greenhills San Juan in October 2007. Buddy created the reality-style of wedding videography where the marrying couple tells their own love story. It wasn’t long before a steady following for his kind of wedding videos became evident.

9. Wang Videography by John Mateos Ong

What I like about this group is that they never fail to give recognition to the true source of their creativity. Anchoring on God’s love being the source of all things beautiful and lasting, each wedding video they make brings out the same; so more than a work of art, theirs is a true work of love.
